Hi there! I'm Yvonne Montoya-Matthews, MS, CNS®, LDN, BCHN® -
I’m a double board-certified functional nutritionist, certified herbalist & educator.
I’m committed to sharing knowledge in science and evidence-based nutrition along with a balance of mindfulness, listening to our intuitive body and radical self-care, acceptance and love.
I don’t believe in modern, fad diets. I believe in using food as a foundation to build sustainable changes on, resulting in life-long habits and a joyful way of living. The goal is progress not perfection.
Combining my Master of Science in Clinical Nutrition and Integrative Health with my BS in mathematic from Georgetown University, I bring a unique perspective to personalized nutrition, health and wellness.
I have had my private practice in nutrition and herbal medicine since 2016. I am also a adjust professor at Colorado Chinese Medicine University where I teach the Western Nutrition course to graduate-level acupuncture students and at Purdue teaching undergraduates a course on Contemporary Diet & Nutrition. Additionally, I am a co-founder and mentor at CNS Alliance supervision membership, where we mentor CNS candidates in completing their 1,000 supervised clinical hours, board exam and building a successful career or private practice with supervisor Dr. Oscar Coetzee.
I live in Denver, Colorado with my husband and rescue pittie-dog, Lucy.
I SPECIALIZE IN:

My Story…
…started a long time ago. I was always an athlete and a scholar, putting all my value into my accomplishments. I got pretty good at achieving “things.” I didn’t realize that by simply being an “athlete” didn’t mean I was healthy. In fact, I was put on birth control when I started high school to control or “fix” my horrible acne and painful periods that disrupted my life. Over 12 years later I was shocked when I got off it all my issues came back with vengeance! At that point, in my mid-twenties, I had the worst acne and PMS ever. I wrote more ALL about it here.
After nearly 7 years of “figuring it out,” and throwing way too much spaghetti at the wall, I am proud and honored that I can speed that process along for my clients, so you get to where you want to go a lot faster than I did!
What does that mean?
It means I help my clients with real sustainable nutrition and lifestyle changes through small steps and habit building. And fast-tracking their health concerns and issues with funtional lab work of all kinds, gut health, stool tests, micronutrient tests, blood panels, as well as saliva and urine testing for hormone and cortisol levels and more!
Do you:
Struggle with adult and/or hormonal acne you’d like to see turn into clear glowing skin?
Have you been told you might have food allergies, intolerances and/or sensitivities? Don’t want to spend $$ on testing that doesn’t tell you anything? Want to try an elimination diet or gut healing protocol but are scared and don’t know where to start?
Are an athlete (professional or weekend warrior) who wants to PR in a race, have better workouts, see more results, with less inflammation and injuries?
Are a woman with irregular, painful, heavy menstrual cycles and/or horrible PMS?
Struggle with infertility?
Have cravings (sweet or savory) or battle with emotional/binge eating?
Have brain fog or serious afternoon lulls where you’re afraid you might fall asleep during a meeting?
Think or been told by another practitioner that you have adrenal fatigue? Or been told my a doctor that you just have to “live with it”?
Struggle with some habits that are no longer serving you, or possible addiction(s) you’d like to let go of but cant seem to shake?
If you answered “yes” to any of these, let’s chat! I have real actionable ways through nutrition, supplements, herbs and lifestyle habits to get you where you want to go easier and faster!
